We’re on a mission to transform small churches by changing minds about small church ministry and providing resources and encouragement for healthy small church ministry. More than a website, Small Church Ministry is a community of people in small churches focused on joining God where He’s at work.

Bible Study Contributors are not compensated but enjoy extending their impact and visibility to an international audience.

Free Bible Studies Guidelines:

  • Statement of Faith: By submitting a Bible Study, you are stating that you have read and stand in agreement with our Statement of Faith, Ministry Philosophies, and Core Beliefs. Click here to read What We Believe.
  • Our Audience: Please keep in mind our audience is a small church audience. Most of our churches have 20-200 people. Many of the small groups have 3-10 people.
  • Categories: Bible Studies may be for men, women, mixed groups, children, youth – all ages are all accepted.
  • Topics or Book Studies: Topical studies or studies on books of the Bible are both fabulous!
  • Length & Content: Each Bible Study submitted needs to be at least a 4-week series. One-session Bible Studies will not be accepted.
  • Style: We recognize people learn in different ways and have lots of study preferences. You may submit any style of Bible Study: personal stories or not, simple or exhaustive, conversational or inductive.
  • Multiple Studies: You may submit as many Bible Studies as you like. You will have an author module. Every Bible Study you submit will be listed under your name.
  • Author: The author does not need to be involved in a small church. We’re happy to share Bible studies that meet the needs of our churches.
  • Proof-Reading and Formatting: Editing & Formatting is your job, not ours. Whatever you submit will have your name on it and be representing you, so do your best to proof, edit, and format it. We will be dropping your content in “as-is.” We will not edit, fix typos, or re-format. As you submit it (if accepted), it will be published in our Free Bible Study Library.
  • Author Section: Each author has their own section under which your Bible Studies are listed. We will include your headshot, short bio, and links here.
  • Self-Promotion (optional): In addition to your Author Section, we encourage you to list your name in your Bible Study PDF – this is what will be copied and shared in churches. Author credit will be included however you format it in your PDF. You are free to include the following in your Bible Study document:
    • Front / Back Cover (optional)
    • Title Page (optional)
    • Footers / Headers including name, website, and contact info on each page (optional)
    • A credit page with contact info (optional)
  • Original Content: Only submit original content. The Bible Study must be yours to share. All quotes and scriptures should be properly cited. Even if accepted in our study listing, you are welcome to publish or submit your study to other websites or publications. Just know that once it is put into our free library, it’s freely out in cyberspace.
  • Stand-Alone Studies: Submitted studies must not require an accompanying book or resource, other than the Bible. For example, we will not accept Bible Studies that are based on a non-fiction or fiction book that would be needed for the study. We want our studies to be FREE, not require another purchase.
  • No Images & Graphics: Please don’t include images and graphics. Apart from copyrights and legalities, people are making copies of these studies, and extra ink costs extra.
  • Permission to Copy: By submitting a Bible Study to our free resource library, you are granting permission for people to make multiple copies to be used in their local churches.
  • Controversial Topics: We reserve full rights to accept or reject any submission for any reason. As Small Church Ministry represents various denominations that promote Jesus as Lord, with varying beliefs in political, theological, and social issues, we are committed to focusing on what unites us & not what divides us. While we acknowledge that our commitment to diversity means our community also represents a wide range of beliefs, we have no tolerance for inflammatory comments or hatred.

What We Won’t Accept

We will not accept anything that doesn’t agree with our Statement of Faith, Ministry Philosophies, or Core Values.

The Not-So-Fine Print

  • By submitting a Free Bible Study to us, you are giving permission for your study to be copied for use in local churches all over the world. Be sure you want to give it away before you send it in.
  • Small Church Ministry reserves the right to accept or reject submissions for any reason.

Steps To Submit A Free Bible Study To Small Church Ministry

Email the following to hello @ smallchurchministry.com with “Free Bible Study Submission” in the subject line. 

Please include the following:

  1. Square headshot (jpeg)
  2. Short written bio – one paragraph is great
  3. 1-sentence description of your Bible study writing style (example: “I write deep, inductive studies on the books of the Bible.” OR “My studies are topical, relatable, and fun.” OR “My studies are deep in the word and always have midweek homework.”)
  4. Title of your Bible Study
  5. Study Length & Target Audience (if there is one) (example: 4-week Women’s Bible Study; 6-week Bible Study for anyone: 4-week Bible Study for Youth)
  6. 1-paragraph description of your Bible Study
  7. Bible Study as a PDF Attachment
  8. * OPTIONAL BUT FUN: … share a link to a 1-2 minute video of you introducing your Bible Study (There is ONE video per study – this is not for Bible teaching, but for a personal introduction to share why they might want to use this study.) Your video must be hosted on Youtube, Vimeo, Loom, or a comparable hosting platform.

For multiple Bible Studies: after your first Bible Study is uploaded with us, you only need to submit numbers 4-8 above. (Numbers 1-3 form your Author section under which all your studies will be listed.)

If your study is accepted, depending on our time demands, it could take a month or more before it is uploaded.
