First, consider volunteer sign-ups. Place an announcement in the weekly bulletin, then provide a sign-up sheet for those interested. Providing information allows people to decide, at their leisure, whether to sign up. Those genuinely interested will sign up immediately. Those who are unsure will need more time to consider or gather more information.
2. Create A Church Flyer With Sign-Up Sheet
Prepare a flyer for the bulletin and for personal distribution that explains the role of the volunteer. Provide a sign-up sheet that would include their name and phone number. You can contact them to check if they have any questions or to express your appreciation.
3. Announce It From The Pulpit
Announce it from the pulpit. Ask the pastor or have the lead person of that ministry announce it from the pulpit. A personal announcement adds a face to the need. Again, allowing them to use the sign-up sheet.
4. Use Church Flyers With QR Codes
This time, include a flyer in the bulletin with a QR Code. Post in classrooms, restrooms, and bulletin boards. Posting the flyer allows them to sign up digitally, which is becoming more in line with today’s technology. However, don’t forget the old-school way, using paper and pen, for those who aren’t familiar with QR Codes.

Most churches have a Facebook page, and depending on the sensitivity of the volunteer role, they can tap into that source. It can be a brief, commercial-style presentation accompanied by a flyer or a short description of the opportunity. Interview dedicated volunteers who are in the particular volunteer program. Post on multiple digital media platforms.
6. Make A Personal Invitation
A personal invitation, followed by an explanation of what it entails, is an effective volunteer recruitment tool. The person feels honored that they were considered personally. If you feel led to approach someone, do so, but not just any warm body.

Another way is to invite potential volunteers to an event. It should include a sheet or informational pamphlet with details of the volunteer program, including what skills are required, if any.
